Welcome to the event schedule and directory for the 13th Annual Salt Lake County Watershed Symposium, November 20-21, 2019. Free and open to all, the Symposium encourages a comprehensive review of the current state of our watershed while creating learning and networking opportunities for a broad array of stakeholders. Sessions cover a broad range of topics on water quality and watershed issues with local, regional, and national relevance. Hosted by Salt Lake County Watershed Planning & Restoration.

Dr. Nelson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth Science at Utah Valley University and specializes in Hydrology. As part of a research project funded by the National Science Foundation he is mentoring a team of undergraduate research assistants that are investigating groundwater and surface water interactions surrounding Utah Lake. The team of researchers are using UAVs (drones) utilizing thermal and multispectral sensors in conjunction with more traditional flow measurements to better understand the water budget for Utah Lake and other water bodies around Utah.
